CONSENT CALENDAR COMMENTS
MINUTES of March 2018 meeting
(1) "Susan Cramer suggested art be placed in Marina Park for residents of the Peninsula."
I also mentioned the new development by Moshayedi brothers on Mariner's Mile at the former Ardell
location because of future sidewalks along the harbor.
(2) Susan Cramer suggested the City Arts Commission consider new developments, such as the Lido
House Hotel, for exhibition of public art.
Again, I also strongly referred to looking into coordination with the new developments by the
Moshayedi brothers along Mariner's Mile. I wanted to call attention of the public to it and refer to
comments following. I talked about the Community Development public meeting on February 26, 2018.
The incomplete application Project can be found on the new and super navigable City Planning
Department web pages.

of about 1,200 linear feet along the harbor and incomplete application for project "Newport Village"
I add this day, that Mr. Moshayedi said, upon purchase in January 2016, he had no plans for
development, but wants to reach out to community members and leaders to find a good fit for the
neighborhood. The NB Community Development director then also said the city likely will start a land-
use study soon to discuss bringing in elements the city would like to see, such as a walkway near the bay
for pedestrians and better views of the harbor from Pacific Coast Highway. The project has its own page
on the City's website and is currently referred to as NEWPORT VILLAGE MIXED-USE PROJECT.
The new development application by Moshayedi brothers re: Mariner's Mile at the former Ardell
location. at 2200 block of W. Coast Hwy and on to the 2400 block. A very wide sidewalk between the
yachts and the building structures is proposed. It will be private property, yet accessible to the general
public as there are personal unit residences and pubic shopping mall. They also own the property at The
Shamrock Bar and Grill, Joe's Crab Shack and The Winery restaurants. They also hold the deed to
Mariner's Mile Marine Center, the gray and white office buildings. Mark and Manouch Moshayedi own
about 1,200 linear feet along the harbor Their projected "Newport Village" is currently an incomplete
application.
