City Hall,Newport Beach,Cal.April 26th,1915.
The Board of trustees of the city of- Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7.30 P.M.April 26th;1915.
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and roll call showed
tharo were present trustees: K. Parkinson ,S.R.Jumper,H.A.kobinson,
C.H. "lay and G.P.'1ilson.Absent:None.
Minutes of the meetings of April 5th and April 12th_,1915 were read
approved:

The following resolution was adopted on motion of trustee C.H.Way,
seconded by trustee G.P.'lilson and carried as shown by roll call.
In the matter of the opening and extension of Bay Avenue.
Wheeas,the city council of the city of Newport Beach has heretofore
aadertaken certain proceedings to cause to be opened and extended
Bay Avenue,apublia street in the city of Newport Beach,frou the
point of its present terminus on th westerly line of 23rd street
through to the easterl$ line of 30th street in said city:and
°Ihereas,the commissioners heretofore appointed in said proceedings
have made a report there0n;and
Whereas certain persons,have in writing,objected to the confirmation
of said repoffi k+n�he city council of thb city of Newport Beach;and
'lhereas the sa objections has bean duly and regularly fixed and
noticed for the hour of seven thirty o'clock P.M. of 1Y'onday.4pril
26th,1915:and
Whereas,the persons making said objections are represented by H.C.
Head,a duly licensed and practicing attorney of the State of
CCalifornia;and the city council of the city of Newport Beach is
represented by Clyde Bishop;and
Whereas,it appears that it is-impossible for the said H.C.Headand
Clyde Bishop to be and attond upon the said hearing at the hour of
7.30 P.M.MondaS� April 25th,1915;and
Whereas the said H.C.Head and Clyde Bishop have requested the same,
and the persons making said objections and represented by said H.C.
Head have end R921request the same,and the said Clyde Bishop and the
said city/oF eeport Beach do consent thoadCo;
Now therefore,in view of the foregoing,and good cause appearing
therefor,it is hereby ordered by the city council of the city of
Newport Beach -that the hearing of the objections to and confirmation
of the report of the cimmissioners In the matter of the opening and
extension of Bay Avenue,be and is hereby continued from the hour of
7.30 P.M.of Monday,April 26th,1915,to the hour of 7030 P.M. of
Tuesday May 4th,1915." Roll call as follows.
Ayes:VI.K.Parkinson,S.R. Jumper ,H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way,anri G.P.'.Wil. son.
Idoes:None. Absent:None.
Letter from M.S.Cummings refusing to enter into contract for
improvement of certain streets at Balboa per his bid on advice of hi;
attorneys was laid over pending return of city attorney Bishop.
Demand presented by the clerk on behalf of the State Compensation
Insurance Board for balance due on insurance of city employees
was allowed and warrant ordered drawn on motion of trustee H.A.
,Robinson,seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried.
Letter from P.T.Evans of Riverside with a number of other-letters
attached bearing on the matter of giving to the city a five foot
strip from the frontage along the East- New,,ort tract was filed.
Letter from Roy F.Jumper filing claim against contractors in the
street lighting system work,for services rendered was laid over
until the return of city attorney Bishop.
Proposed license ordinance was referred back to committee on motion
of trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried.
Ordinance # - -- being an ordinance of the city of Newport Beach
regulating the matter of exits in places of public entertainment.
time when fires will be allowed on the beach and other public places-1
fire extinguishers in hotols;etc;was read for the f4rrt timr, and was
passed to second reading on motion of trustee C.H.•`.'ay,seconded by

Letter from the [Musicians Fraternal Corporation soliciting businc:c;
for a band for the sumner. was f;il.ed.
Letter from garbage collector contractor L.G.Bnalos asking that h,�
be protected in the+ma2 %tor of collection of garbage fit for cc.ttle
feed was laid over pending return of city.attorney Clydpp Bishop.
The matter of looking out for the neccossary equipment for the
street lights in the way of lamps,fuses etc,was left in thc.hands of
the street committee.
Moved by trustee H.A.Rebinson,seconded by trusted and
carried that adjournment be taken sing ourned -,
