On motion of J. C. NcCadn, seconded by Trustee P. L. Heard
and carried, the salary of the firemen was raised to X1.00 per
man for each practice. <
On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker, seconded by Trustee
J. C. McCain and carried, adjournment was taken until 7:30 P,M.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, met in
adjourned session at 7 :30, P. M. Tuesday September 2nd, 1919.
The meeting was called to order by President J.P.Greeley,
The roll was,ealled showing the following Trustees were
present: J.P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker, A. L. Heard, J. C. McCain,
J. S. Wilkinson.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.
Report of Paul E. "Kressly „-, on public landing at Balboa,
was referred to the Street Committee.
Request of Glen Helms to construct pier on his property at
24th Street, was referred to the City Engineer for investigation,
and approval.
On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker, seconded by Trustee
J. C, McCain and carried, the request of J. A. Beek to construct
marine ways approved by the City Engineer was granted.
The protest of Joseph Ferguson on the proposed sewer system
was read.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Resolution No. 120.
A, resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport)
Beach, overruling and denying all protests against proposed sewer
system as set forth in Resolution of Intention No. 116, of the City
of Newport Beach,
Resolution No. 120. was adopted by the following vote to -wit;
Ayes, P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker, A. L. Heard, J. C. McCain,
L. S. Wilkinson, Nogs None„ Absent, None.
.Resolution No. 121, A resolution of .the Board of Trustees
of the City of Nemort Beach, ordering certain -work to be dons, In
certain portions of Central Avenue and other streets, to -wit:
cons truction of Sevier system and septic tanks. On motion of
Trustee J. J. Schnitker, seconded by Trustee J. C. McCain, resolution

Whereas, Rodger Brothers Company Contractor, directly
int:- rested in that certain work recently dons andor the "
"Improvem- - -nt Act of 191111, consisting of the surf =eing ;with clay
and gravel, of the alley situated between Central Avenue and
Surf Avenue and extending from the Westerly line of Washington
Street and to the Easterly line of Alvarado Street, in the City
o.f.i1e;-port Beach, feeling aggrieved by the act of the Street
Superin'tendent', has appealed to the Board. of Trustees of said
City from the Act and proceedings of the Superintendent of Struts
of said City, in making and issuing; his assessment number five (b)
dated September 23rd, 1919, for the cost and ex ense of said
improvement on the ground that the diagram attached to said assess -
n:er_t was ayoproved by-- said —Board of Trustees before said Resolution
of Intention was adopted, and that no proper diagram was attached
to said asohsoment.
