HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/03/1919 - Regular Meeting344 City Hall, Newport Beach, Nov.3rd. 1919 The Board of Trusteesof the City of Newport Beach, met in regular sessionNov. 3rd. 1919 at ,7 :50 P.M. ` The meeting was called to by President J.P.Greeley., In the absenceof the City Clerk, Trustee L.S.,n ikinson actei as City Clerk pro tem.. The roll was called showing the following Trustees present; J.P.Greeley, J.J.Schnitker, A.L.Heard, L.S.: "iilkinson. Absent J.C.MoCain. On motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker, seconded by Trustee A. L-,.Heard and carried, the surety Bond and certificate of office o7 M.L.Orcutt were approved. The Bond,,ras`filed with the President of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, Mr. J.P. Greeley. 'Pr ent of the Board of Trustees. Attest, C ter Clerk Pro Tem. ItI.L.Orcutt now acting as City Clerk. Reading of the minutes of October 6th. October 15th, October 20th. and October 22nd. were read`, corrected ' and approved. The reports of the heads of Departments were read, and on motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee A.L.Heard and carried, were accepted and ordered filed. No reports from any of the Special Committies,being made they were ordered continued. The City Clerk was instructed to communicate with Mr. Mason of the League of Municipalities regarding the extension of the So.California Edison Lines. Communications were read and referred to the proper order o: business. ' ' On motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee A.L. Heard and Carried, that the letter of Jos. Ferguson and the petition signed by John Xing,C.S.Het :mstreet, Willa E &ing, Pars. E.R.Hawley, J.I:I.Holt, Mrs. Julia Holt, and Mrs. J.A.I'loods re- gardingthe irregularities etc. in the sewer proceedings. On motion-of Trustee L.S.Wilkinson seconded by Trustee J.J. Sehnitker and carried the City Clerk was instucted to advertise for bids for the following: 2500ft. 4in. standard pipe with loi couplings, 4- 4in.Tees, 2- 4by 2 reducers, 2 -4in. by 21n.bashings� 4- 4in. plugs, 1- 4in: gate valve. Allto be black dipped. This -bi for the water dept. Communication from F.A.Young re arding the extension of the _ electric light system to his residence. The City Clerk was instu( to inform him, that as soon as five property owners in his vicin; would sign up the So. Cal. Edison Co. would extend there lines.I Communication from the Balboa Chamber Of Commerce, requestil $106.00 from the advertising'fund'for mailing booklets. On motic of Trustee L :S.Vlilkinson seconded by Trustee J'J.Schnitkerthat One Hundred Dolldrs be paid`from the advertising fund to the Balboa Chamber of Commerce: Rolled call °showed As follows: Ayes Trustees J.P.Greeley, J.J.Schnitker, A.L.Heard, L.S.Wilkins( Noes none; '.Absent J.C.McCain.' On motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee A.L. Heard and carried; That the City Clerk communicate with ?tor. Armitage and have him get definite information from Mr. Titcomb Vice President of the P.I.R.R regarding the new Proposed spur track for -the Industrial district, and make at the next regular a detailed report.
