S. Wilkinson and harried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Wilson, Conrad Richter, L. S. Wilkinson. Noes, Trustees done. Absent, Trustee J. J. Schnitker. Further hearing of protests on Resolution of Intention _'o. 250 for vacating a portion of Coast Boulevard were continued to 7:30 o'clock p. m. on '.onday, Hovember 19, 1923. There being no further business on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S. ?Wilkinson and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock p.m. on P.:onday, November 19, 1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in regular adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker. The roll •:vas called showing the full. Board present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. This being the day and hour set.for opening bids on the Comfort Station at Balboa, the Board in open session publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed bids received, 1 :rhich bids are as follows: J. V1. Markel c: Son, for both Stations • complete, - 528.941.00 Homan E: Tully, for East Newport Station, - - - - 41495.00 " " " Balboa Station, - - - -- - - - 7.935.00 J. Simon Fluor, for East Newport Station, - -- - 2,753.00 it it " Balboa Station, - - - - - - - 6,858.00 The bins were discussed as not conforming to the notice calling for bids, and on motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee 1I. C. Sloan and carried, the matter was laid over until the City Attorney comes. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, a Resolution instructing the President to file an application with the State Board of Health for a permit to construct a sewage collecting system and treatment works for that portion of the City known as Balboa Island, was passed. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. "lilson And carried, the matter of the disposal of the timbers out of the old tbestle and the value of the buildings on the wharf together with the cost of removing same, was referred to the Street Committee to make a recommendation at the next meeting. The matter of some one to go to Washington next month in the interest of our Harbor was "discussed, and on motion of Trustee L. S. 71ilkinson seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter, Major Chas. T. Leeds was appointed as the representative of the City with Harry Welch as alternate, and '., %600.00 was set aside out of the advertising fund to defray the expense of the trip by the following vote: 154 Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Wilson, Conrad Richter, L. S. Wilkinson. Noes, Trustees None Absent, Trustees None. 'N. A. Irwin expressed a desire to lease the bay end. of 15th Street to move the West Newport Pavilion on to fix up for a dance hall and boat landing, and on motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H. U. Sloan and carried, the matter was referred to the Fire and Water Committee for a report. Inasmuch as the bids for the Comfort Stations were not in conformity with the notice, on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S. Wilkinson and carried, all bids are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is instructed to return the bids and checks to the makers.On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the Clerk was instructed to readvertise for_ bids on a Comfort Station at Balboa and one for East Newport to be separate bids for each, the bids to be opened December 10th. The tax bill from the County for the lot assessed to the Southern Counties Gas Co. was referred to the Clerk for investigation. The communication from Y. Eltiste in regard to the pipe line was referred to the Clerk to acknowledge with thanks. On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the request of C. A. Price for permission to build a pier in front of Collins Isle, was granted subject to the will of the Board. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the request of Chas. L. Laperruque for transfer of hi.s license No. 271 to P. 0. Chilstrom, was granted. Further hearing on:the protests of Resolution of Intention No. 250 for vacating a, portion ,,f Coast Boulevard were continued to B?onday, November 26, 1923 at 7:30 o'clock p.m. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, that demands No. 764 and 765 having been signed and approved by the Finance Committee, were allowed and - warrants to be drawn for same. On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by TrLB tee Conrad Richter and carried, a P•.Sap of Tract No. 602 Dakota Tract, being a. subdivision of Lots 293 and 303 of Newport Heights, was approved. On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, a Map of Tract No. 594 East Costa Mesa, being a. subdivision of lots 133, 134, 143, 144, 153, 154, 163 and 164 of Newport Heights, was approved. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C..Sloan and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to notify the Pacific Electric Officials to remove the wires from the embankment to be removed at once. There being no further business, on motion of Trustee Si. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S.
