Bids;
Bids having been received for the �?54,ODO.00 bonds
advertised for sale for Municipal Inprovement District No14 of the City of
Newport Beach, by Banks,Iluntle�r & Co.; and Bank of Italy, who bid par
value accrued interest to dat of delivery of bonds, and a nremiuri of
,ff7.80; '.m.R.Staats Co. who. bid par, accrued interest, and a premium of
?211.00; each of the bids appeared to be regular and the bid of Bank_ssUuntle;
Co. and Ban', of Italy, the highest and best bid made, carried, the bid of
Banks.Huntley 2. Co., add Bank of Italy eras aocepted, and the bonds awarded
to said coDpa.Iy. The bid of 17r_.R.Staats Co., was rejected;
Oil Zone:
Trustee Young introduced an ordinance describing; a district
or zone ;•rithin the city of Necrport Beach wherein it should be lawful to
conduct, maintain or carry on the business of drilling for, developing,
producing,, `sto-tring and refining pebroleuni, oil, gas and other hydro - carbon
substances, prescribing regulations and restrictions to be enforced therein,
and ?rohibi ting the carryin,; on of any such business in any other part of the
city of Nev.mort Beach.
The Ordinance was ordered filed, read, considered, designated
Ordinance and referred to the city attorney.
1 A communication was received from Y.E.?^ge of Balboa,
requesting a 3 -4 -or5 year lease of the Washington Street wharf at a rental of
X200.00 per year. On motion of trustee VU lhinson seconded by trustee Sloan,
and carried, the request was referred to the Committee as a '.hole.
A resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Los Angeles, requesting that the people of the state be allowed to s et the
rate of various public utilities and inviting the citizens to the various
cities of Ca _if rnia to join with the city of Los Angeles in baving proper
measures presented before the state Legislature ,-,,as ro -d. and ordered filed
and the Cleric was instructed to write the gourd of Trustees of Los Angeles
roquesti..- furthor information on the subject.
