and carried, was annroved and signed by the president of the board. '
The minutes of previous ^eetin were read corrected and annroved
as corrected. Renort of Leads of Denartmonts and ap =)roved
extent that of City l :dvertisin� Tanager which was held for future
consideration. Communications to the Board =:c,re read and referred
to the oroner order of business.
This being the time and place appointed and noticed
i•hen and where interested persons might ap7)ear before thek poard of
Trustees and she,,,,- cause why bonds should not be issued upon the
security of unpaid .c.ssessments shorn on the list therof for the
done under res �ktion of intention Fo. 52.3, passed the 16th_

and thereupon determined that the assessments shown on the list

Trustee young introduced a resolution declarin; the
necessity for construction of a reservoir, ind the land required to
b-i taken therefore, directin; an action to be comr.,enced for its con-
demnation. The resolution was ordered filed, re ^.d, considered., de-

as tre le- islative branch, thereof, ordering the submission to the
qualified` Voters of said city t`:e proposition of incurrin• _ :.ended
indebtedness for two certain municipal improvements, calling •.n
election for that purpose, reciting the obiects qnd purposes for ,
:;hich the indebtedness is proposed to be incurred, the estimated
cost of each of the proposed public improvements, a °d the amount
of the Drincioal of the indebtedness to be incurred for each there-
of, and fixings a maximum rate of interest to be Did on s -id in-
debtodness, fixing the d ^te on which the election will be el.d, or
- -ainst incurring such indebtedness, and further providin, that in
all narticulars not recited in this Crdinance, such election shall be
held as provided by law for holding municipal e'o ^tions in the city
of ''e'•rnort Beach.

The Ordinance eras thereupon si,ned and approved b,r the --resident
and attested ',D-,T the Clerk.
Trustee young introduced an ordinance submitten- cer-
tain questions to the electors of the city of !'ewport Beach at the
general municipal election to be held therein on the 12th day of
April, 1926 and providing the form in which such questions shall
appear upon the ballot.
The ordinance was ordered filed read, considered, de-
si3nated Ordinance ?'o. 295 and referr�d to the city attorney.
City r,ttorne« submitted final drafting of contract
between the city of i:ewport Beach and La -una Beach County Mater
District, contract rend, considered and upon motion of Trustee
' "'ilkinson seconded by Trustee Sloan was carried. Ordered si.-ned
the president of the Board and attested by the city cler'c, where-
upon the clerk was instructed to mail a copy to :..r. Taal Forest,
Secretary of the district.
The matter of the purchasing of property of l.:r. B. !_.
Stone on motion of Trustee "'ilson seconded by Trustee Sloan, cit;*
engineer was instructed to prepare necessary description in order
that the city attorney could prepare deed for the property.
L:r. Varnum was allowed an opportunity to present to
the board his position in the matter of Procurrin.7 a petition un-
on maintaining a floatins hotel off the city of ?'ewport Beach pier
on wir ich no action was taken.
In the matter of condemnation proceeding under way in
regard to the property of L.r. C. C. Henry. i'.r. }.enry nroposed that
the city of Newport Beach purchase the said property for the sum
of one thousand dollars which proposition did not meet with the ap
proval of the board and the condemnation proceedings were ordered
continued.
In the matter of assessments of lcrs. TTattie Field the
matter was referred back to the tat collector.
On motion of Trustee Sloan seconded by Trustee young
the advertising managerls estimate for the month of !.,arch ryas ap-
proved and carried.
In tho mater of petition of I.-r. R. Russell for
building to be erected on the end of- Balboa Pier for the housin-
of apparatus in connection with his lease t::ith the city of "ci:port
Beach for the live bait concession. The matter was referred to a
committee, Trustee Sloan and Trustee Young, for consideration.
There bein_; no further business on motion oi' Trustee
Sloan seconded by Trustee Young and, carried t'.:o meeting was ad-
