three cabs (the additional cab to be ;
processed in the usual way before approval ;
will be rendered). ;

that in a conference with D. P. Travis on

July 13, a plan had been arranged to reduce
the ten units in the apartment house to five
units. He enumerated the compliance his
client would make with the conditions set

forth by the Council in its previous findings

for the necessary repairs to the Ocean View

Apartments, and stated every condition would
be met.
Mayor Stoddard pointed out that new evidence

was being presented which had not been re-

viewed by the Planning Commission.
A discussion regarding provisions for garage
and parking space ensued in which it was

pointed out that the lot is only twenty -seven
feet wide and there is space enough for only
two cars abreast, Mr. D. P. Travis spoke from
the audience and stated that the present pro-
posal made by Attorney Clark, was a fresh,
workable approach.

The Public Works Director stated that he esti
mated the cost of the necessary improvements,
including, fill in Tract No. 772 would be in
the amount of 41200 to $1500 per lot, which
work could be done under the 1911 Act and'pay
ment therefor charged over a ten year period.

The following people spoke from the audience
in favor of improvements in the area: Mr.
Merle Wilson, Mr. Stanley glackburn,. Mrs.
Leanor (Adams) Beale, Mr. Ted Russell, Mr.
Benjamin Walterscheid, Mr. Volney Jenkins, Mr.!
George Lord, Mrs. Ellsworth. Mies. Bernice
Reynolds inquired whether or not the fact
that she had invested approximately $400 for
dirt fill on her lot would be credited to her.
The Public Works Director stated he was'certaip
-she would be entitled to a credit.
The City Manager was instructed to.initiate
proceedings not later than September 15, 1959,;
to et a Debt Re_,ort on this area (Tract No.
772 .with the view of filling in, paving the
streets and sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and ;
installing sewers. ;
2. The Clerk presented the alleged Claim for ;
Damages of George F. West regarding damages to;
his car when pulling away from a curb; hitting;
a guard post in front of the property at 220 -;
26th Street, on June 24, 1959. Said Claim wss:
denied and the City Clerk's referral of the
matter to the insurance carriers was con-
firmed.
3. The City -Clerk presented the Claim for '
Damages from Rene S. Mortelette regarding al-
leged damage to goods stored in his garage at
516 Clubhouse, which was flooded with water
on June 26, 1959, by the bursting of a water
main. Said Claim was denied and the City
Clerk's referral of the matter to the in-
surance carriers on July 6, 1959, Was c an-
firmed.
