Minutes of REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
Date of Meeting: November 25, 1963
Time of Meeting: 7:30 P.'M.
Place of Meeting_ Council Chambers
Roll Call:
Mayor Hart read the following proposed Resolution which
was unanimously adopted:
"The President of the United States having designated
Monday,. November Z5th, 1963, . a day of National mourn•
ing, the City. Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, meets for the sole purpose of adopting. the
following Resolution of sympathy:
"As the Nation and the world mourn the loss of our 'late
President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the City - Council
on behalf of the citizens of Newport Beach expresses
sincere grief at his untimely death.
"This tragic event has brought grievous suffering to. the
Nation and has thrust sadness upon the entire world.
We join the people everywhere in extending deepest
sympathy,to Mrs. Kennedy and the members of the late
President's family in this time of sorrow.
"The City Council now immediately adjourns in memory
of our late President."
The Council meeting was adjourned to 1:30 P. M. on
Tuesday, November '26, 1963.
