The Council agreed to consider the Study Session Agenda
prior to giving further consideration to the Preliminary
Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 1965 -66.
1. Councilman Stoddard inquired about the signal at
Campus Drive and MacArthur Boulevard. The Public
Works Director explained the need and indicated that
the City's share of the project would be 1 /8th.
2. Consideration was given to a review of the engineering
matters relative to Centerview Annexation which was
scheduled for public hearing on the evening agenda at
7:30 P.M. The Public Works Director commented,
displaying maps, on his report dated June 14, the
report of Simpson & Stevlingson, and the report of
Moore & Taber. Frank Hughes of The Irvine Compan
spoke from the audience.
The consensus of the Council was that a contractual
agreement was needed prior to approving Annexation
No. 57 ( Centerview).
3. The Public Works Director reviewed matters relative
to the acceptance of the dedication of Ford Road, a
matter which was also on the evening agenda.
4. The Public Works Director commented on the recom-
mendations of the engineering firm of Williamson &
Schmid which had been hired by the City to study the
Dover- Westcliff intersection, a matter also on the
evening agenda. Further study was deemed desirable.
5. The City Manager reviewed a proposal for a method
of installing the parking gate at the 26th Street parkin
lot, recommending the installation bf underground
electrical conduit by City employees and a contract
for the purchase and installation of an automatic gate,
a matter also on the evening Council agenda.
6. Councilman Marshall commented on the request for
support of the Southern California Association of
Governments Formation Committee (SCAG).
The matter was diaried for Study Session discussion
