He felt that some of the provisions would work a hardship on some of the marinas. The matter was referred to the staff for investigation and Motion report back when it is convenient, and to (check into the Ayes x x x x x Code to see when the deadline is, and if it is any time soon, like February, to let the Council know so that the Council can change the deadline date. Consideration was given to the Preliminary Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 1965 -66 as presented by the City Manager: 1. Finance Director stated that the net deductions made by the Council at this time were $9,190. 2.. Discussion was had regarding whether or not to enter into the Budget expenses for repairing the springs and recovering the Council chairs. It was agreed that the chairs which had springs needing retying should be repaired, and the recovering done,without adding the costs to the proposed Budget. 3. A deletion of $100 from the Planning Budget, Account No. 0938, Training Expense, was authorized, and Motion x the Planning Budget, as amended, was approved. Ayes x x x x x 4. It was directed that $195 for a fireproof file for the Motion proposed Contract administrative project, be deleted Ayes x x x x from the Administrative Budget. 5. The Lifeguard Service Budget was considered. It was directed that $460 be added to Account No. 2868 Motion x for insurance for the hull of the Sea Watch. Ayes x x x x x Chief Reed presented a proposed salary scale for seasonal employees. The seasonal pay scale as presented, was approved. The Lifeguard Budget was approved as amended. Councilman Parsons stated that consideration should be given to the purchase of a lifesaving boat which does not have an outboard motor. The consensus was that a look should be taken at various types of rescue boats for future consideration. Bldg & 6. The Building and Safety Budget was considered. The Safety Building and Safety Director, R. A. Glenn, spoke from the audience. The Building and Safety Budget was approved with an increase of $30 in Account No. 2921 for maintenance of additional radio equipment, and an increase in Account No. 2990 of $465 for a cash register, and a deletion of $50 from Account No. 2936, Conference and Travel. Memorandum from the Financing of Capital Improve- ments Committee dated June 16, regarding "East Bluff Park Proposal" accompanied by a proposed Reim - bur4ement Agreement, was presented. Resolution No. 6167 authorizing the execution of a Reimbursement Agreement with The Bluffs for the Motion x improvement of East Bluff Park, was adopted. Roll Call- Aye s xx xxx xx. 2. Resolution No. 6168, being a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach stating its position with respect to a new coastal freeway route, known as Newport Beach.Inland Corridor, as a more favorable route than the adopted coastal freeway, was Motion adopted.
