Good day Madam Mayor and Members of the City Council,
My name is Charles Kfobe and I am a board member of the Newport Heights Improvement Association
(NHIA). Kate Malouf is also a board member of NHIA. While I have not known Kate for a long time I have
found her to be an active member of our board. Also as a parent of school age children she brings a
younger perspective and approach to the challenges that face us. Perhaps her connection to the NMUSD can
foster more cooperation between the City and NMUSD.
Most younger folks do not have the time for public service. I think Kate can offer a fresh approach to the
commission. I hope you will appoint her to the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission tonight.
