Defines uses/users and Regulations related to the use of the facility
• Defines Oceanfront as a walkway
• 8 mile per hour Speed Limit

Class 2: Low -speed throttle -assisted electric bicycle
• Power delivered via "throttle" — pedaling not necessary
• Powered drive shuts off at 20 miles per hour
➢ May be restricted/prohibited by Local Agency (CVC 21207.5)
Class 3: Speed pedal -assisted electric bicycle
• Power assisted while user pedals
• Power assist shuts off at 28 miles per hour
➢ Prohibited from sidewalks, paths and trails (CVC 21207.5)

1. Maintain current restrictions
2. Prohibit Electric Bicycles and other motorized conveyances
• Allow powered devices exclusively for mobility of disabled
persons
• Allow Electric Bicycles to be used without power assist
3. Revise/Update Municipal Code
• Update definitions to address current/future technology
• Revise list of prohibited devices
4. Update signs with revised uses/restrictions
