Completely unnecessary and ridiculous. Our numbers are going down we do not need any more policing by our local city officials. The restaurants and merchants are doing a great job and do not need to be penalized any more especially with our numbers and hospitalizations going down and well within range. Government over reach! Stop! Kindest Regards, Anita Received After Agenda Printed September 8, 2020 Item No. 15 From: City Clerk's Office Sent: Saturday, September 05, 2020 3:17 PM To: Mulvey, Jennifer; Rieff, Kim Subject: FW: Text pick up From: Jennifer Chance Sent: Saturday, September 5, 2020 3:17:15 PM (UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Text pick up [EXTERNAL EMAIL] DO NOT CLICK links or attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. We were there in Balboa and night from this site. Since the sidewalk in narrow and there's others walking past whole some are ordering and waiting I would suggest the attaching of the 6ft circular stickers to the sidewalk for a like and have the employee take a testable number from all patrons so that there's no loitering whole you wait for your dessert. I hope that helps. It's a small space there to all be waiting. -Jenny Chance Sent from my iPhone Received After Agenda Printed September 8, 2020 Item No. 15 From: City Clerk's Office Sent: Sunday, September 06, 2020 12:56 AM To: Mulvey, Jennifer; Rieff, Kim Subject: FW: Emergency ordinance for dining From: Michael Dean Ballard Sent: Sunday, September 6, 2020 12:56:04 AM (UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Emergency ordinance for dining [EXTERNAL EMAIL] DO NOT CLICK links or attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Emergency ordinance for dining From the daily pilot article the fines and regulations seen practical. I've lived and kept boats in Newport for over 30 years. Great place but if you visit public places you would hardly know thier was a pandemic. In public where you can't social distance, even in some stores, a small fraction of people wear masks. Try walking down the boardwalk, very few masks. Please start ticketing people. Let's be leaders in doing everything we can. While we're at it how about ticketing every single car driving down Balboa boulevard at 50. Big shots, rich kids, whoever thinks they can risk our necks willy nilly. Thank you. I urge the city council to reject this proposal. It is as absurd and ridiculous as Nancy Pelosi and has no basis in science or undestanding of how a virus works. This proposal is driven by fear and arrogance over individual liberty Respectfully, Robert Kramer Corona Del Mar robert kramer 360.901.3620 Received After Agenda Printed September 8, 2020 Item No. 15 From: City Clerk's Office Sent: Sunday, September 06, 2020 8:22 AM To: Mulvey, Jennifer; Rieff, Kim Subject: FW: Face coverings and social distancing From: Angela Rose Kulpa Sent: Sunday, September 6, 2020 8:22:03 AM (UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Face coverings and social distancing [EXTERNAL EMAIL] DO NOT CLICK links or attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. We all need to realize that we cannot operate from fear. Is this going to be the new normal - FOREVER?!? To shut down community and gatherings for every illness? We have flu every year, we have colds every year - and sadly some people succumb to these illnesses. But we haven't shut down the world and we shouldn't. Children need to be in school, people need and want to go back to work. A majority of people don't want to live shut down and behind masks. How many essential workers (who were working everyday with hundreds of people - I'm thinking of grocery stores in particular) who were not wearing masks in the beginning of this new disease were getting sick? Very few. I suggest those who want to wear a mask, wear them, and those who don't, don't. Each individual can choose to quarantine if it makes them feel safer. Headlines screaming COLLEGE STUDENTS TEST POSITIVE means nothing. How many died? How many even have fever? Well if you dig deeper on just one article.... "The 159 students are in isolation and none have required hospitalization." Do you hear that being SCREAMED at everyone. No not even a whisper. Fines are wrong.
