Dear Monica:

I am writing to tender my resignation as a member of the Economic Development
Committee (EDC) of the City of Newport Beach, upon the selection of a replacement
representative, or December 31, 1994, whichever data comes earlier.
The EDC has been a great community service and business promotion effort. You
may recall that the committee was created by the City Council, principally with the initiative
of my good friends retiring mayor Clarence Turner and councilman John Hedges.
Our chairman, Rush Hill, has been a tireless and energetic leader. We have had very
capable staffing from assistant city manager Ken Delano and planning director Jim
Hewicker. Our membership includes fellow real estate professionals like Norm Angell of
Chevron Land and Jerry King, among others, who are doing a great job.
To be a committee member has been a privilege, and I know my replacement will be
equally honored to work with this public-spirited group of great City leaders.
Very truly yours,
