RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING -THE MASTER LAND USE PLAN
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Newport
Beach has recommended amendments to the Master Land Use Plan of
the City of Newport Beach, as shown on a map entitled "Master
Plan, City of Newport Beach, California, Land Use Plan", dated
December 6 , 1961; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after notice as required by
law, has held a hearing on said proposed amendment; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to amend such Master Land Use
Plan by adding a Planned Community District classification; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to reclassify the area on the
easterly side of the Upper Bay between the Upper Bay and Jamboree
Road, bounded on the north by Bayside Drive and on the south by
Big Canyon, as a Planned Community District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City 'Council of
the City of Newport Beach does adopt said amendments to the
Master Land Use Plan as shown on the map attached hereto.
BE IT. FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are authorized and directed to sign said amended Master Land Use
Plan map to show that it: has been adopted by the City Council,
and that the- same be placed on file with the Master Plan of the
City of Newport Beach.

Dear Mayor and Gentlemen:
In accordance with Council action on December 26; 1961,
the Planning Commission on January 4, 1962 reviewed the
Master Land Use Plan as related to the East Bluff and,
on motion of Commissioner Higbie, seconded by Commis-
sioner Marshall, and carried, approved a Land Use Map
showing the area ds delineated on an Irvine Company Land
Use Map of this area; to be superimposed on the City of
Newport Beach Master Plan Map.

As indicated in a phone conversation with Gene Schulte
on January 2, the Council action taken regarding con-
sideration of the Amendments to the Master Land Use
Plan was held over, on December 26, 1961, until the
next Council meeting pending the coordination of the
Planning Commission and The Irvine Company maps,
and the review by the Planning Commission of the map.

A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS OF THE
MASTER LAND USE PLAN
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the City Council have
heretofore adopted a Master Plan of the City of Newport Beach, which
said Master Plan includes as a unit thereof a Master Land Use Plan,
adopted by the City Council on January 13, 1958; and
WHEREAS, changed conditions and further studies by the
Planning Commission require certain amendments to said Master Land Use
Plan, for the area on the easterly side of the Upper Bay between the
Upper Bay and Jamboree Road, adjacent to the Aeronutronic site; and
WHEREAS, after notice and hearing in accordance with law,
the Planning Commission has reviewed said amendments to the Master Land
Use Plan as such amendments are designated on the attached map entitled
"Master Plan, City of Newport Beach, California, Land Use Plan", dated
December 6, 1961, prepared by the Planning Department under the direction
of J. W. Drawdy, Planning Director;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the City of Newport Beach does adopt said amendments to the Master Land
Use Plan in accordance with the Map attached herewith;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Secretary of the
Commission be directed to certify and transmit said amended Master Land
Use Plan to the Council of the City of Newport Beach for consideration
and adoption.
Regularly passed and adopted by the Planning Commission of the
City of Newport Beach, State of California, on the 7th day of December,
1961.
