Declaration
Dear Mr. Zbeda:
Thank you for providing the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) with
the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Ford Road Residential
Project (Project). The following comments are provided for your consideration.
New residential land use construction provides an opportunity to encourage a
variety of travel choices. OCTA encourages the City of Newport Beach to work
with the project applicant to consider inclusion of short/long-term bicycle parking
and bicycle facilities for residents and guests. Short-term parking in the ratio of
one bicycle parking space for every four units should be considered, and
inclusion of a secured ground floor indoor bicycle storage area could serve long-
term bicycle parking.
