Subject: Ford road project
Hi,
As a concerned homeowner of Newport Beach, writing to object to the condo project on Ford
road as it presents a significant safety issue to the children of the neighborhood and all those that
will visit the park and facilities. Additionally, it will have a significant traffic impact as already
in the morning and evening the area going in and out of the neighborhood is impacted.
The contingent liability of having this in our neighborhood is significant. Below is the quoted
specific safety concern amongst other safety issues inherent with this project
The hazardous design at the entrance has cars coming up a ramp with little visibility of kids or
bikes at the end of the ramp. Delivery trucks which already have limited visibility will have
come out the same entrance only backwards, going uphill, around a 90-degree turn….then once
on Ford Rd they will be pointed the wrong direction and will have to go back and forth about 4
times to reverse 180-degree direction presenting traffic issues and exasperating the traffic and
safety issues.
Additionally, a minor issue is the aesthetics are not in keeping with the neighborhood or park
area.
Please discontinue this project as it is a certain safety hazard and the city should not accept the
risk.
