Subject: 4302 Ford Road Project: Safety hazards
Hi Ben,
I am a resident of the Port Street neighborhood and my 7 year old daughter uses the Bonita
Canyon sports parks for recreation. When we saw the new proposed building plans for the
project at 4302 Ford Road, we were concerned for several reasons:
Increase in traffic congestion at the parking lot where lots of children ride their bikes to
enjoy the park - insufficient parking at the building itself for that many residents
Loading driveway will require trucks to back up to leave the building - safety/visibility
risk for kids in the area esp riding on the bike path
Close proximity of building to park edge - lack of privacy for residents and kids at the
park.
Wanted to share these concerns and please ask that the project be delayed until these
safety/accessibility/privacy issues are better addressed in the design. Or just cancel the project
altogether, as it's a joy to have open space for our kids to run around.
