This proposed development will cause numerous safety hazards to our neighborhood and to the children who use the parks, bike path and sidewalks on a daily basis. The Port Streets is a family oriented neighborhood and always has been and this proposed development will be totally out of character for the surrounding neighborhood. The entrance & exit to the proposed development in & out of the garage poses a severe hazard to the safety of our children. There is limited visibility which makes it dangerous for anyone passing this entrance either on the sidewalk or thru the bike lanes which will be an accident waiting to happen. The 3 story building will tower over the sports parks & look totally out of place in the neighborhood. Because there will not be adequate underground parking, residents etc. will be parking in the city lot thereby increasing the amount of traffic in the lot; again making it unsafe for children going to the sports parks, walking and/or riding their bikes to CDM and for bicyclists using the bike path. Delivery trucks will be exiting backwards for the driveway and then be facing in the wrong direction necessitating several attempts to be turned in the right direction, again endangering our children and anyone else attempting to walk, bicycle or in any way move thru this area. This development adds nothing to our neighborhood and will destroy the peaceful, calm and child friendly environment that all of us who live in the Port Streets enjoy & which make it a desirable place to leave. We need you to reconsider this plan and find a better use of this land than adding more condos or apartments to an already built out area. Thank you. Amy Hunt
