Ben,
My name is Ryan Tollner and I have lived in the Port Streets neighborhood for 8 years. I have five
children, ages 9, 7, 6, 3 and 6 months. We visit the parks in this neighborhood as much as any family,
and our regular park is up at the end of the cul de sac on Ford Road.
It is my sincere belief that the proposed apartment complex would adversely affect one of the best
family neighborhoods in Newport Beach and all of Orange County. Safety is a premium for families like
mine, and this development would likely invite heavy traffic and speeding on a now quiet road that
children like mine frequently ride their bikes on to get to and from the park. Park safety would then be a
concern of mine, all of which would cause me to consider moving elsewhere.
Please don’t spoil a true gem of a family neighborhood with an unnecessary business gain for some real
estate developer. Prioritize children and community safety and refuse this apartment project.
