Thanks for the update.
I watched the video from the 4/18 meeting and I was pretty surprised that the developer would speak
for our neighborhood, saying that we support this project. To my knowledge, this has not been
discussed within the neighborhood and in fact there is a groundswell of opposition to it building.
In addition, for him to state that grandparents and divorced dads have nowhere to go is absurd. Across
the street on the corner of Bonita Canyon and MacArthur there is a 1000+ unit apartment complex
known as Newport Bluffs.
This project seems to have been misrepresented.

As with many of the properties in the City, this is in the planning area for John Wayne Airport. Given that
the project involves a request to change the designated land use (i.e., a legislative action), the Airport
Land Use Commission must review it.

Moving forward, there will be a public hearing with the Planning Commission wherein action will be
taken on the project. From there, this project will still require two more public hearings: one with the
John Wayne Airport Land Use Commission and ultimately one with the City Council where a final action
will be rendered.
On that note, I will add your email address to the interest list, so I can keep you informed as to when any
upcoming hearings are going to occur.
