The proposed project will severely negatively impact the area and will pose a safety hazard to the current residents. The existing park across the street is utilized by many residents of Newport Beach, as well as residents of surrounding communities. On any given day there are families with young children all around the area and the project would increase traffic flow to the extent that a serious safety hazard would be created. That area is already quite congested with cars, bikes, and children with all of the soccer games, pickle ball, tennis and walking paths. It is currently a wonderful asset to the city and community and would become very difficult to navigate with the estimated traffic flow with this new project. Please keep in mind that the safety of the residents is the highest priority when planning additions to the community. The port streets has suffered extreme loss of youth in recent years- by keeping the proposed area a city park we, as a community, can avoid another tragedy such as the death of a young child. Please keep me informed of future city planning meetings, I plan to attend. Sincerely, Gale Friedman 2001 Port Provence Place
