I am hearing about the proposed condo project slated for Old Ford Rd where the AT&T building resides. As a Port Street resident and frequent user of the parks and greenbelt I can't understand how the city would think this would be a good idea. We don't need more condos or apartments- across the street there are hundreds! This is a family residential neighborhood and it's congested enough. Each day cars line Old Ford Rd for soccer practice, tennis and pickle ball games, people shooting hoops and kids playing at the park. On the weekends the park doesn't nearly host enough spots for the amount of visitors. Cars speed up and down this section of the neighborhood because there are no stop signs and wide roads. My oldest son starts CDM in the fall and will use the bike path on the corner to get to and from school. More congestion and cars means higher chance for accidents. The city would be reckless to add this building to our community. What are the next steps in your decision process? The neighborhood is very unhappy about this. Should we email city council members too? Please advise. Karen Carboni 2344 Port Aberdeen Pl.
