During construction, staff identified additional work needed on Lido Park Drive and on Vista del Oro in Eastbluff. The additional work was added to the contract. The contracted work has now been completed to the satisfaction of the Public Works Department. A summary of the construction cost is as follows: Original Bid Amount: $ 680,000.00 Actual Cost of Bid Items Constructed: $ 642,635.00 Total Change Orders: $ 103,331.60 Final Contract Cost: $ 745,966.60 The final contract cost was $745,966.60, which was approximately 9.7 percent higher than the original bid amount. The cost increase was primarily due to additional concrete improvements on Lido Park Drive and Vista del Oro. The change order work on Lido Park Drive consisted of reconstructing new sidewalk and curb and gutter to improve street drainage conditions and prevent storm water from entering a private underground parking garage. The second change order work on Vista del Oro involved removing an old dilapidated wooden barrier and steel railing in front of an abandoned road entrance. The road entrance was removed and converted to a new parkway with sidewalk, curb and gutter, and grass to match the adjacent existing improvements.
