Current Volunteer Cleanup Efforts
City Beach and Bay Cleanups
(3-4 groups per month)
Regular Organizations include: Newport Beach Surfrider, Orange
County Coastkeeper, Newport Bay Conservancy and Help Your
Harbor.
Occasionally Businesses/Churches (i.e., Boeing, Latter Day Saints,
Scouts) will host volunteer (specialty) cleanups for their
employees/members
On-going unmet Citywide needs
Increasing service level demands
Public Works Department
Community Volunteer Cleanup Program
• Working to develop as a force multiplier for staff
• Address unmet needs
• Provide doorway for community involvement
Task in progress:
• Identifying areas with unmet needs
City Parks, Roadsides, Trails, Open Space
• Developing pre -defined project sheets for volunteer efforts

• Update website with opportunities and information
• Reach out to the community, businesses, organizations

Who is Trellis?
• Non-profit organization in Costa Mesa, CA
• Work with the homeless and housing insecure
to close the loop on self sufficiency and re-
enter the employment market
What is CIT?
• Voluntary service program
• Participants gain work experience and skills
