Collection of Commercial
Refuse within the City
➢ City currently has 23 Non -Exclusive (open)
Commercial Franchised Haulers
➢ Five are considered `Tier 1' Haulers who
collect Commercial and Multi -Family Trash,
Recyclables, and Organics on a permanent
basis
➢ One Downside of an Open System is that
often Multiple Haulers Service the Same
Area, leading to Increased Truck Traffic and
conflicts within Community Streets and
Alleys, added Noise and Disruption to
Nearby Businesses, Residents

written notice that the City wishes to enter an exclusive franchise.
❖ Potential High -Density Areas which Council may want to consider:

➢ West Newport Area
➢ McFadden Plaza Area
➢ Defined City Quadrants
