Fire Alarm
1. Plans and specifications shall include location of all alarm -initiating and alarm -signaling
devices; annunciation; power connection; voltage drop calculations; make, model and state
fire marshal listing number for all equipment, devices and materials requiring listing; and
wiring or cable type and sizes. (CFC 1001.3)
2. Provide a copy of the installing California State Contractors License with registration
number, class and expiration date.
3. Provide name and phone number of the project coordinator, owner, system designer and
supplier.
4. Specify all Initiating, Indicating, and Signaling line circuit styles currently installed and
what is being installed.
5. Provide a legend for all symbols.
6. Provide two copies of plans and equipment data sheets.
7. Highlight equipment data sheets for all fire alarm equipment to be installed (style, type,
model, amps, volts, mfg., etc.) for the fire alarm system(s) and security system if a
combination panel is used.
S. Provide voltage drop, circuit amperage, and power supply (battery) calculations to include
standby and alarm conditions, include security if a combination panel is installed on the
blueprint.
9. Provide voltage drop calculations for all circuit(s) 10% maximum (ordinance), point to point
method or OHM's law. Calculations are for the area that work is being performed.
10. Provide a diagram showing a typical wiring configuration for each of the system devices
and the point of connection at the panel. Dedicated zones shall be identified on these
drawings.
11. Indicate the location of all devices, end of line (EOL) devices, conduit/wire runs, conduit
sizes, number and size of conductors, list conduit fill (40% max. NEC 346-6) for each device
and/or circuit for the area work is being performed. Initiating Zone 1 shall be indicated as Z-
1 and Indicating Circuit 1 shall be indicated as C-1. The zone indication shall be placed
adjacent to the appropriate end -of -line device(s).
12. Provide a riser diagram indicating the device installation, wiring sequence, the number of
devices per zone and zone assignments for the area work is being performed. All other areas
just show the total amps and watts used per circuit and zone identification.
13. Provide a sequence of operation matrix.
14. Drawings shall also include details showing the installation of pull stations and strobes
(include installation height), FACP, door hold open devices, heat and smoke devices.
15. Automatic detection devices shall be located in accordance with their listing(s).
16. Control pad to have a single reset button.

17. Visual warning devices for the hearing impaired are required to be installed (added) within
the suite per T-24 requirements under one of the following conditions.
a. Building is equipped with visual warning devices.
b. Existing fire alarm panel can support visual warning devices for the entire building.
c. The fire alarm panel is being upgraded to support visual warning devices for the
entire building.
d. The occupancy group is changing.

changes, raps, etc.
ACCESSIBL PARKING
1. Provide disabled parking spaces as required by Table 11B-6 for parking
lot/struc ure (1129B.1).
Specify t, e total number of parking spaces and disabled parking spaces required by Table 11B-6.
2. Accessibl: parking spaces serving a particular building shall be located on the shortest
accessible oute of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance (as near as practical
to an accessible entrance) (1129B.1 & 1129B.4)
3. Where singl: accessible parking spaces are provided, they shall be 14' wide and 18' long and
outlined to . ovide a 9' parking area and a 5' loading and unloading access aisle on the
passenger side .f the vehicle. (1129B.4.1, Fig 11B-18A)
4. One in every ei: t accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be served by an access aisle
96" wide minimuand shall be designated "van accessible". All such spaces may be grouped
on one level of a pa ing structure. (1129B.4.2)
5. Accessible parking spes shall be so located that persons with disabilities are not compelled to
wheel or walk behind p ked cars other than their own. (1129B.4.3)
6. Curb ramps shall not enc .ach into any parking space, with the exception of a transition ramp
from a loading/unloading a ea to an adjacent walk/sidewalk. The transition ramp shall be a
minimum of 48" in width; a • aximum of 60" in length, with a maximum slope of 1:12 and with
flared side slopes of 1 vertical . 10 horizontal maximum. (1129B.4.3, Fig. 11B-18A, B &C)
7. Each parking space reserved fo persons with disabilities shall be identified by a reflectorized
sign permanently posted imm•diately adjacent to and visible from each stall or space,
consisting of a profile view of a eelchair with occupant in white on dark blue background.
The sign shall not be smaller than '0 square inches in area and, when in a path of travel, shall
be posted at a minimum height of 81" from the bottom of the sign to the parking space finished
grade. (1129B.5, Fig 11B-18A, B & C)
8. Signs to identify accessible parking sp es may also be centered on a wall at the interior end of
the parking space at a minimum height .f 36" from the parking space finished grade, ground or
sidewalk. (1129B.5)
9. Van accessible parking spaces shall have : n additional sign stating "Van Accessible" mounted
below the symbol of accessibility. (1129B.5)
10. An additional sign shall also be posted, in . conspicuous place, at each entrance to off-street
parking facilities, or immediately adjacent ti and visible from each stall or space. The sign
shall be not less than 17" by 22" in size with 1: ttering not less than 1" in height, which clearly
and conspicuously states the following:

"Unauthorized vehicles parked in designa d accessible spaces not displaying
distinguishing placards or license plates issue ' for persons with disabilities may be
