HomeMy WebLinkAboutPA2022-039_20220211_Description22nd Street Pizza- Outdoor Dining Permit Application PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND JUSTIFICATION 22ND Street Pizza opened in at 2200 West Oceanfront, Unit B in April 2021 after an extensive building remodel. The opening of the restaurant coincided with the Covid 19 pandemic which continues to surge today. At the time of our opening, we applied for an emergency Temporary Use Permit and set up a dining parklet that occupies 2 public parking spaces immediately in front of our restaurant. The parklet has served as a valuable dining option for the public visiting Newport Beach during the Covid 19 pandemic. The parklet meets the City of Newport Beach, ADA and ABC requirements and there have been no nuisance reports as a result of this parklet. This request is to allow 22nd Street Pizza to have a parklet for an additional time period of over 90 days so the public can frequent our restaurant while eating outside with full air flow which has been recommended by the CDC to best prevent the spread of Covid 19. We understand that the City of Newport Beach may impose a rental fee on the space since it occupies 2 revenue generating parking spots operated by the City. 22nd Street Pizza is open daily from 11am-10pm.
