1. Disabled accessible paths of travel are required from (1) accessible parking spaces to
entrance to covered exterior dining area, (2) restaurant reception desk to covered exterior
dining area and (3) covered exterior dining area to public restrooms serving the restaurant
(CBC 11B-202.4).
2. Exterior dining area covering shall be approved by the City of Newport Beach Fire
Department.
3. Occupant load for dining area with moveable tables and chairs shall be calculated
according to CBC 1004.5 and number of required exits shall be determined by CBC 1006.2.
4. Minimum clear width of aisles between tables and chairs shall be 44" when tables
and chairs are on both sides of aisles (CBC 11B-403.5.1(4)) and 36" when on one
side (CBC 11B-403.5.1(4), 1029.9.1(4)(5)).
