Subject: Fractional Ownership of Homes in Newport Beach, Council Agenda Item #13
Mayor and City Council: Thank you for your efforts to manage our City.
On behalf of the residents of Balboa Island and the BIIA, please approve the
Item #13 listed at Tuesdays City Council meeting which states "Consideration
of directing staff to monitor cities with fractional ownerships and report
back to the City Council in six months". It also may be useful to request that
the League of California Cities study fractional ownership for their member
cities.
305 Grand Canal was recently purchased as another fractional ownership
property on Balboa Island. It is important to track legal aspects of this new
ownership model and also problems and solutions by other cities and counties.
