Our next City Council meeting is Tuesday, April 26. Items of interest are highlighted below. The entire
agenda and reports can be viewed here.
A study session will begin at 4 p.m. Agenda items include:
• Residential refuse program update. Staff from the Public Works Department will present an
update on changes to the City's residential waste and recycling program implemented during the
past several months to bring Newport Beach in compliance with new state laws mandating the
recycling of organic waste.
• Housing Element update. The state Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)
has provided comments on Newport Beach's Housing Element update, approved by the City
Council in February. City staff will discuss the comments and how the Housing Element may be
revised in response to HCD's input.
The regular session begins at 6:30 p.m. with the following items of note:
• Community Development Block Grant 2022-23 Annual Action Report. The Council will conduct a
public hearing to receive comments on the annual action plan and consider a resolution to adopt
the plan.
