SECTION III: AO Zone Design Certification Statement
I certify that: (1) I have developed or reviewed the structural design, plans, and specifications for construction for the
above-referenced building and (2) that the design and methods of construction specified to be used are in accordance
with ASCE 24 as accepted standards for meeting the following provisions:
• The top of the concrete slab and stem walls for the lowest floor are elevated above the BFE per ASCE 24 Table 2-1
and they are not less than the Community's minimum DFE of 9.0 feet NAVD88; and
• Flood vents are designed with specifications and details incorporated within the construction documents are
compliant with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and ASCE 24 section 2.7.
