SUBJECT: EASEMENTS ACROSS P.E. RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THE VICINITY OF
59th and•60th STREETS

At the November 27, 1972 Study Session the Council requested
the staff to provide a list of easements across. the Pacific Electric
right-of-way in the vicinity of 59th and 60th Streets.
The attached sketch shows a 10' Public Utilities easement and.
walkway at 61st Street which was dedicated on May 24, 1962 when Tract
4400 was filed.
This is the only easement in the subject area.
The adjoining lots were acquired through condemnation proceed-
ings by the State Division of Highways for freeway purposes. In order to
eliminate the easement the City would be required to be named as a party
defendent in the condemnation action. Since the City was not named in the
proceedings it appears that the City still holds an interest in the ease-
ment.
