SUBJECT: SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
CONDEMr1ATION OF VACANT LOT ON TUSTIN
AVENUE OPPOSITE AVON STREET -TO GAIN
ACCESS TO CITY PARKING LOT
The City Manager has made several attempts to acquire the
vacant lot on Tustin Avenue opposite Avon Street to provide
access to the City owned proposed parking lot easterly of
Tustin Avenue. To date, there has been no success in regards
to the proposed acquisition of said property.
State law requires that the City Council hold a public hearing
prior to adopting the resolution of necessity to condemn property
for public use. Specific mailed notice must be sent to property
owners regarding the hearing on the resolution of necessity.
In order to acquire said parcel, the City Council will have to
hold a. hearing on February 11, 1980, on the resolution of
necessity. It is recommended that the City Council by minute
action set a public hearing to be held on February 11, 1980,
to adopt the resolution of necessity to acquire the vacant lot
on Tustin Avenue opposite Avon Street to provide access to the
City owned and proposed parking lot.
