Zdeba, AICP, Principal Planner Date: August 16, 2023 Re: GPAC Agenda Item IV.d, Subcommittee Updates ________________________________________________________________ On August 9, 2023, the GPAC Outreach Subcommittee kicked off and held its first meeting. The meeting was facilitated by Dudek and Kearns & West (hereafter “Consultants”). As part of the presentation shared, the Consultants identified that the overall General Plan Update timeline should be driven by community outreach and engagement efforts. The attached timeline provides a snapshot of the overall process, including phases, that was shared with and supported by the Subcommittee. It is noteworthy that the timeline takes a methodical approach to the various elements of the General Plan and is driven by the necessity of thoughtful and thorough engagement of the community. With this in mind, the work of individual subcommittees is expected to be restructured to align with the timeline such that some subcommittees will not currently be conducting regular meetings. This will help to ensure efficiency and productivity with meaningful meetings that have the support of the Consultants and subject matter experts moving forward. Also at the August 9 meeting, the Outreach Subcommittee provided comments to help shape the Outreach and Engagement Plan. The Consultants are now working to prepare a draft for review. The Outreach Subcommittee will be meeting again on Monday, August 28, and will review the draft plan.
