PLEDGE
As a candidate, I will:
- Focus on the issues that I believe matter most to Newport Beach
- Present my record and policy ideas with sincerity and frankness and insure that any criticisms of
the record or policy ideas of my opponents are fair, fact -based and accurate
- Not engage in or allow others to engage on my behalf in character defamation, whispering
campaigns or personal attacks based on misrepresentations against my opponents or their
family members
- Immediately and publicly repudiate support from any person or group that resorts to the
preceding methods and tactics, including independent expenditure or political action
committees
- Not make any promises or commitments to any person, political party, organization or others in
exchange for a campaign contribution
- Comply with all City ordinances regarding the placement of signs, banners and other campaign
materials and take responsibility for the removal of my signs, banners and other campaign
materials from public view immediately after the campaign
- To the extent possible, participate in all debates and candidate forums sponsored by recognized
community groups
- comply with all municipal ordinances and state laws regarding limitations on and reporting of
campaign contributions and expenditures
