Dear V.J.:
We have designed the structural slab over the pool equipment room to carry 3 feet of soil
(720 psf of dead load and 100 psf of live load). See page IA of the calculations dated
5/19/2008.
The weight of the spa and the water in it is much less than 720 psf that the slab is
designed for. Therefore the slab can carry the spa with water in lieu of the 720 psf that
was originally designed.
