Home My WebLink AboutADDITIONAL MATERIAL - NB Sculpture Exhibition - Phase IX - Public Poll ResultsNEWPORT BEACH CIVIC CENTER SCULPTURE EXHIBITION PHASE IX PUBLIC POLL RESULTS REVIEW INTRODUCTIONS PUBLIC POLL SUMMARY (1/2): •Poll was posted on Arts Orange County’s website SparkOC.com and live from Feb. 11 through Mar. 11 •28 qualified submissions were included •Participants were allowed to vote for up to ten favorite works •Poll was designed to randomize display order of works for each user •After auditing, the final participation saw 239 eligible voters casting 1,873 votes •Public poll results are not fully binding but to be given primary consideration in assembling slate of Finalists and Alternates. •Finalists and Alternates must still pass a thorough review by our installation service, confirmation of availability in the condition submitted, and a successful execution of a contract with the artist. Alternates may take the place of Finalists in any event of a Finalist failing to pass these steps. •Final vote on whether to approve the Recommended Selections rests with the Newport Beach City Council. PUBLIC POLL SUMMARY (2/2): •Security measures included: •Users required to complete a CAPTCHA form designed to catch bot behavior •Users required to submit a valid e-mail address and provide the ZIP code of their residence. Each email address could only vote once •Poll captured IP address and time of submission •Raw vote logs were examined to detect any ineligible votes, for reasons including: •Ineligible/incomplete ZIP code •Multiple votes in a short time window from the same IP Address where the email addresses aroused reasonable suspicion that they were coming from the same person •Any other patterns or voter behavior which, in Arts Orange County’s judgment, may give rise to a misleading interpretation of the “voice of the community”.
