`WJlER�E.A4, The Literacy Project was founded in 2009 to serve the purpose of solving reading problems amongst
schooG-age children who were endangered of becoming illiterate adults; and
WWJf RMI founder Sue Chant is a visionary whose passion forgiving the gift of Literacy to struggling readers
has fueled the formation andsuccess of The Literacy Project; and
TM4MAS, Sue Grant's focus on her college education in psychology forged a desire to help troubled youth and
thus began a Cfelong journey to help those who needed it most; and
`WJ T,EM, The Literacy Troject has raised over $5.1 million to provide a reading program at "no cost"
to both the childandschoolwithin fourstates. The nonprofit's 30-hourprogram signi candy improves a
child's ability to read, averaging skill increases from 76% to 129 % and the agency has also donated $1.96
million worth of reading games to 49, 014 family members, promoting family literacy; and
'GMU,4S, thanks to her leadership at The Literacy Project, Sue Grant was featured as one of "20 Most
Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs 2022" by The Women Leaders Magazine in 2022. Sue Grant has also earned the
California Congress of Parents, Teachers and Students Service Award, V.S. CongressionalService award and a
top five finish at the World Literacy Awards in 2021 and recently in 2023. Additionally, she's a co founding
director of the Coalition for Reading Excellence (Washington, D. C.); and
'WJFEUAS, Iff-ie Literacy Project leadership will tell us that there are many ways to save a Cfe. The gi of
reading is one of them.
