frames grew and spread to the second fCoor, and
` MgtEAS, Fairuz ,bane SchCecht, who rived in a neighboring apartment, had already escaped the
burning building when she learnedthat the three children were stiffinside. Schfecht ran 6ackinto her own
apartment, accessed the neigh6oring apartment, ran down a hallway filled with swirling smoke and high-
pitched noise, kicked in the children's bedroom door, andgathered the children; and
` &I� UAS, Schlecht ran back down the half where she quite Citerarry saved the fives of the three
children; and
`W. II U$S, SchCecht has received a bronze medaffrom the Carnegie Jfero 'Fund, a prestigious honor for
civilian heroism, after being successfully nominated by Newport Beach (Fire Department Captain ,doe
Yfarrison.
