Re: Agenda Item No. 3 — Ordinance No. 2024-15: Amending Sections
17.60.010 (Public Trust Lands - General), 17.60.020 (Application
for Pier/Mooring Permits or the Lease of Public Trust Lands),
17.60.040 (Mooring Permits), and 17.60.045 (Short -Term Mooring
Licenses) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code Related to
Mooring Permits and Licenses
City staff is requesting that the City Council continue Agenda Item No. 3 until City
staff has had the opportunity to meet and confer with state agencies regarding
proposed modifications to the Municipal Code and rate structure.
Also, City staff is requesting that the City Council reconsider the adoption of
Resolution No. 2024-47 when the City Council reconsiders Agenda Item No. 3. If
the City Council votes to continue Item No. 3 and reconsider Resolution 2024-47,
Resolution No. 2024-47 will not go into effect and will be held in abeyance until the
City Council reconsiders the resolution.
The City Clerk will note in her files that Resolution No. 2024-47 has been
suspended pending future action by the City Council.
