The Newport Bay Watershed Executive
Committee is the successor committee to
the Sediment Control Executive Committee
formed in 1999

regulatory issues, funding, and governance
of the Central Watershed Management

Mission Statement:
To provide a management framework for
cooperation on sediment, water quality, and water
resource issues in the Central Watershed
Management Area.

Goals:
Integrate and improve hydrologic functioning of the watershed to optimize flood protection, water conservation and water quality protection
Protect, enhance, restore and connect habitat in the watershed
Integrate economic development with watershed restoration efforts

Build and sustain effective relationships between watershed stakeholders to achieve common goals through positive communication, collaboration, consensus and coordination
