HomeMy WebLinkAboutNewport Bay Watershed Exec CommNewport Bay Watershed Executive Committee Chris Crompton, County of Orange November 1, 2018 1983 – Upper Newport Bay Sediment Control Executive Committee formed through Cooperative Agreement The Newport Bay Watershed Executive Committee is the successor committee to the Sediment Control Executive Committee formed in 1999 NBEC Background Members: •County of Orange/ Orange County Flood Control District •Cities of Irvine, Lake Forest, Newport Beach, Tustin •California Department of Fish and Game •Irvine Company •Regional Water Quality Control Board, Santa Ana Region •Irvine Ranch Water District NBEC Background Serves in a leadership and advocacy role to oversee policy related to water quality regulatory issues, funding, and governance of the Central Watershed Management Area Members are elected or appointed officials or are executive-level managers, with one member from each of the signatories to Agreement D08-104 NBEC Background Mission Statement: To provide a management framework for cooperation on sediment, water quality, and water resource issues in the Central Watershed Management Area.
