These samples were analyzed for nutrient levels and soil suitability in preparation far a new landscape installation of general ornamentals in medians. Analvti@I Results: Nitrogen is low in both samples. Phospflorous. and potassium are SL1fficient in the '#1' sample a-nd below optimum in the '#2' sample. calcium, magnesium and all of the minor nutrients are sufficient for plant nutrition throughout. The reaction of tile '-# 1' sample is slightly acidic at 6.1 on t he pH scale, which \s icle.31 for most pla11ts and no pH adjustment Is recommended In that area. The '#2' sampe is slightly alkaline at 7.4 on the pH scale, which coufd cause some plants to show yellowing of younger foliage . Qualitative lime is absent in that sample and it should be possible LO adjust the soil pH downward by incorporating soil sulfur at tlie provided rate and depth.
