GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL WORK DETAILED ON THESE PLANS TO BE PERFORMED UNDER CONTRACT SHALL BE
CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
CONSTRUCTION", 2015 EDITION AND SUPPLEMENTS TO DATE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE STATED IN
THE CITY"S STANDARD SPECIAL PROVISIONS, OR IN THIS CONTRACT'S SPECIAL PROVISIONS.
2. EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ARE SHOWN AS PER AVAILABLE RECORDS. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE ACTUAL LOCATION AND ELEVATION IN THE FIELD
PRIOR TO BEGINNING CON STRUCTION.
3. ALL EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES SHALL CONFORM IN GRADE, COLOR, DIMENSION, AND FINISH
TO ADJOINING IMPROVEMENTS, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. P.C.C. SHALL BE CLASS 560-C-3250 UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST CITY UTILITIES (e.g. WATER VAULTS, WATER VALVES, SCO, SURVEY
MONU MENTS, SEWER AND STORM DRAIN MANHOLES) FRAMES AND COVERS TO FINISHED GRADE
PER CITY STANDARDS. ALL OTHER UTILITIES SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO GRADE BY OTHERS.
6. PROPOSED PAVEMENT AND CURB AND GUTTER SHALL JOIN AND MATCH LINE AND GRADE OF
EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
7. ANY DISCREPANCY IN THE DRAWINGS OR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE CALLED TO THE ATTENTION
OF THE ENGINEER. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL PLACE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR FOR
CORRECTION.
8. ANY WORK NOT INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS BUT CALLED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS, OR
VICE-VERSA, SHALL BE FURNISHED AND PERFORMED AS THOUGH SPECIFICALLY INDICATED AND

PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK, REPORTING ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE
DESIGNER.
2.WRITTEN DIMENSIONS SHALL HAVE PRECEDENCE OVER SCALED DIMENSIONS

3.GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DEMOLITION IN
PREPARATION FOR NEW WORK.
4.PATCH, RESTORE, AND REFINISH ALL AREAS DAMAGED BY THE

7.NEW AND EXISTING WALLS/CEILING SURFACES SHALL BE PAINTED WHERE

MANUFACTURER'S SPEC. AND PREPARE SURFACES FOR NEW PRIMER & PAINT.
8.COORDINATE W/ ENGINEER PRIOR TO DEMOLITION FOR ITEMS TO BE
SALVAGED.
9.UTILITY SERVICES: CONTRACTORS AND SUB-CONTRACTORS SHALL CONFIRM
LOCATIONS OF UTILITIES AND NOTIFY ALL PERSONS WORKING ON SITE OF
EXISTING UTILITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE AND IDENTIFY ACTIVE
UTILITY SERVICES AND TEMPORARY DE-ACTIVATE THEM WHEN THEY
CONSTITUTE A HAZARD. LOCATION OF GAS, ELECTRIC AND WATER METERS TO
CONFORM WITH UTILITY COMPANY REQUIREMENTS.
10.REGARDING DEMOLITION, CAP ALL EXISTING UTILITIES & PREPARE FOR NEW
WORK AS REQUIRED.
11.CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY TOILET IN ACCORDANCE WITH
LOCAL ORDINANCES IF NO EXISTING TOILET AVAILABLE ON SITE.
12.THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH ALL GOVERNING
BLDG. CODES AND CITY ORDINANCES.
CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL CONDUITS, WIRES, SENSORS, PANELS, AND ALL
NECESSARY ITEMS FOR INSTALLATION OF SMOKE ALARM SYSTEM.
13.ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED UNDER BUILDING PERMITS BY THE CITY AND
COORDINATED WITH THE CITY'S PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR PRIOR TO START
OF THE CONSTRUCTION.

WORK BUT NOT INDICATED TO BE REMOVED. REINSTALL ONLY EQUIPMENT AND
