TITLE: Newport Beach Police Station Video Surveillance System
Replacement (Project No. 24F02) - Notice of Completion for Contract
No. 9500-1
ABSTRACT -
On July 9, 2024, the City Council awarded Contract No. 9500-1 for the Newport Beach
Police Station Video Surveillance System Replacement project to Vector Resources Inc.,
DBA Vector USA (Vector). The project included removing and replacing the existing video
surveillance system and providing new computers and monitors in the jail and Watch
Commander's office. The work is now complete and staff requests City Council
acceptance and close out of the contract.
RECOMMENDATION:
a) Accept the completed work and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion
for the project.

This project included providing submittals; completing employee background verification;
removing and replacing the existing video surveillance system; providing new computers
and monitors in the jail and Watch Commander's office; installing a new server rack;
providing video management software (VMS) and software licenses; putting in new wiring
and completing close out documents.

The contracted work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Public Works
Department. A summary of the construction cost is as follows:

Final contract cost:

The final total contract amount was $321,905.44, which was approximately 1.1 % higher
than the original bid amount. A single change order was issued totaling $3,535.00 that
included providing additional cameras and cabling in the jail and property storage areas.

On July 9, 2024, the City Council found this project exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Class 1 Section 15301(a) (interior or exterior
renovations involving such things as interior partitions, plumbing, and electrical conveyances)
of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it
has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
NOTICING:
The agenda item has been noticed according to the Brown Act (72 hours in advance of
the meeting at which the City Council considers the item).
