CONNECT VALVE WIRES TO EXISTING CONTROLLER "c". RESTORE IRRIGATION WITHIN BALBOA PENINSULA PARK IMPACTED BY PROJECT CONSTRUCTION. 1. WORK INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: a. ASSESSMENT OF THE EXISTING SPRINKLER SYSTEMS BEFORE SITE DEMOLITION BEGINS TO DETERMINE WHAT PORTION OF IRRIGATION WILL BE REMOVED AND WHAT CAN BE RETAINED. b. SITE EXPLORATION AS NECESSARY TO LOCATE THE EXISTING PRESSURE MAINLINE AND WIRING, SPRINKLERS TO REMAIN OUTSIDE THE LIMIT OF GRADING LINE AND LOCATION AND SIZE OF LATERAL RUNS BETWEEN SPRINKLERS. c. DOCUMENTATION ON A PLAN DRAWING AND BY PHOTOGRAPH THE LAYOUT AND COMPONENTS OF THE EXISTING IRRIGATION SYSTEM. d. PREPARATION OF AN IRRIGATION RESTORATION PLAN SHOWING NEW SPRINKLER LOCATIONS, ANY RELOCATION OF EXISTING SPRINKLERS, PIPING AND MAKE MODEL AND MANUFACTURER AND SIZE OF MATERIAL USED FOR IRRIGATION RESTORATION. 2. COORDINATE SITE EXPLORATION AND DOCUMENTATION WITH ENGINEER AND PARK STAFF. 3. IF NECESSARY CONTRACTOR SHALL PROv1DE AN ALTERNATE MEANS OF SUPPL YING WATERING TO EXISTING PLANTING AREAS TO REMAIN DURING CONSTRUCTION. PERMISSION TO SHUTOFF EXISTING IRRIGATION SHALL BE PROv1DED IN WRITING BY THE ENGINEER. 4. THE INTENT OF THE IRRIGATION RESTORATION IS TO PR0v1DE A FULLY FUNCTIONING IRRIGATION SYSTEM PROv1DING AT A MINIMUM OF 100% UNIFORM COVERAGE WITH A PREFERRED OVERLAP OF 10% WHERE POSSIBLE DUE TO SHORELINE LOCATION. 5. ALL IRRIGATION COMPONENTS USED IN THE RESTORATION AND REPAIR SHALL BE NEW AND FROM THE CITY'S APPROVED MA TERI AL LIST AND SHALL MATCH OR CLOSELY MATCH THE EXISTING SPRINKLERS AND VALVES USED IN THE EXISTING SYSTEMS. HOWEVER WHEN A PORTION OF AN INDlv1DUAL VALVE SYSTEM IS MODIFIED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR WILL NEED TO PROv1DE AND INSTALL ALL NEW SPRINKLERS BODIES AND NOZZLES ON THAT ENTIRE VALVE SYSTEM. 6. THE LAYOUT OF THE NEW IRRIGATION SHALL ELIMINATE OVERSPRAY ONTO SIDEWALKS, ROADS, OTHER PAVED AREAS AND SITE STRUCTURES. 7. IF DURING THE COURSE OF SITE EXPLORATION OR DURING CONSTRUCTION THE CONTRACTOR DETERMINES THAT EXISTING VALVES, SPRINKLERS OR LATERALS NOT IMPACTED BY CONSTRUCTION ARE DEFECTIVE OR NOT WORKING PROPERLY, THE CONTRACTOR IS OBLIGATED TO IMMEDIATELY POINT OUT THE SUBSTANDARD AREAS TO THE ENGINEER. INSTALL VALVE C-30-DRIP ASSEMBLY FOR BELOW GRADE PLANTERS ADJACENT TO NEW BUILDING. EXISTING REMOTE CONTROL VALVES C-1 THROUGH C-6 FOR BALBOA PENINSULA PARK IRRIGATION. REPLACE ANY EXISTING VALVES AS DETERMINED BY SITE EXPLORATION AND REv1EW OF EXISTING IRRIGATION CONDITION. EXISTING IRRIGATION AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY "c" TO BE REPLACED. SEE IRRIGATION LEGEND SHEET L1.2. RECONNECT EXISTING AND NEW WIRING TO CONTROLLER. RUN 4 SPARE WIRES TO VALVE LOCATION. CAP IN PULL BOX. IF EXISTING MAINLINE AND CONDUIT IS NOT ADEQUATE OR IMPACTED DURING CONSTRUCTION, PROv1DE NEW 1-6" SLEEVE FOR 3" PRESSURE MAINLINE CONNECTION TO EXISTING 3" MAINLINE AFTER BOOSTER AND NEW 3" -SLEEVE FOR NEW VALVE WIRE FROM UPGRADED 32 STATION CONTROLLER. NEW WIRE IS FOR AVAILABLE STATIONS C-25 THROUGH C-32 FOR USE WITH NEW IRRIGATION FOR BALBOA PENINSULA PARK AND EXISTING VALVE STATIONS C-1 THROUGH C-6. PROv1DE 14 VALVE CONTROL WIRES PLUS 8 SPARE VALVE WIRES AND 1 COMMON WIRE/PLUS A COMMON SPARE. VERIFY LOCATION AND DEPTH OF P.V.C. LATERALS UNDER WALKWAY PAVEMENT WITH CITY INSPECTOR AND LOCATION OF PENETRATION FOR 3/4" P.V.C. SUPPLY LATERALS TO INDMDUAL SUBSURFACE PLANTERS ON SITE.
