SUBSTRUCTURES: The location of existing substructures shown hereon have been 3. taken from the latest available records, and their correctness and completeness are in no way guaranteed. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to locate all substructures, including laterals, v1hether shown hereon or not and. to protect them from damage. The removal of abandoned in place interfering substructures shall be the contractor's responsibility. The lowering or relocation of interfer- ing portions of utility substructures, shall be the responsibility of the said utility or franchise holder. COVER: Minimum cover on all new water mains shall be: --·· a. In State Highway right of ways: 42 inches (including casings). b. All other areas: 36 inches, unless s·hawn otherwise on the plan. 4. PAVEMENT REMOVALS: All P.C.C. and A.C. street pavement to be removed shall be outlined to necessary 1'10rking limits and sawcut to a minimum depth of 2 inches prior to removal. 5. TRAFFIC CONTROL: All traffic control warning signs, lights and devices shall conform to the provisions in the "Manual of Warning Signs, Lights and Devices for use in Performance of Work upon Highways", dated 1973, as prepared by the Department of Transportation, State of California. 6. ENCROACHMENT PERMIT: All work to be performed within the State Highway right-of- way, shall conform to the requirements and conditions of the encroachment permit issued by the Department of Transportation, State of California. ·Permit will be obtained by the City of Newport Beach. & ORANGE COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 5 NOTES 1. Prior to corrmencement of any work on the District 1 s facflities, notify the District's Engineering Department a minimum of 24 hours. Call (714) 540-2910. 2.
