1. ALL WORK, MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, STANDARD PLANS AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
DA TED JULY 2002, AND THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR THIS PROJECT. . -
2. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO ASCERTAIN THE EXACT LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES PRIOR
TO DOING WORK THAT MAY DAMAGE SUCH FACILITIES OR INTERFERE WITH' THEIR SER'v1CE. CONTRACTOR
SHALL POTHOLE FOR NEW POLE LOCATIONS AND OBTAIN APPROVAL FROM THE ENGINEER.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AND NOTIFY ALL UTILITY COMPANIES A
MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE ALL PHASES OF THE CONSTRUCTION WITH THE VARIOUS UTILITY
COMPANIES INVOLVED.
4. THE ENGINEER SHALL APPROVE THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL PULL BOXES, CONDUITS, DETECTOR
LOOPS, AND CABINETS IN THE FIELD. POTHOLE PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
5. ALL PULL BOXES SHALL BE No. 6 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON PLANS.
6. ALL LOOPS SHALL BE "A" OR "E" SPACED 10' APART AND SHALL EXTEND 1' INTO CROSSWALK OR
LIMIT LINE UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE (LE. EXISTING).
7. ALL SALVAGED MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY. OF THE CONTRACTOR EXCEPT
AS REQUESTED SHALL BE SALVAGED TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH.
8. ALL TRAFFIC LOOPS, SIGNING, PAVEMENT MARKERS AND STRIPING SHALL BE COMPLETED PRIOR
TO SIGNAL TURN ON.
-9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ELECTRICAL
WORK AND PRIOR TO REQUIRED INSPECTIONS.··
10 .. ALL SIGNAL HEADS TO BE COMPOSITE TYPE. ALL SIGNAL HEADS, TERMINAL BOXES, AND HARDWARE
SHALL BE REPLACED NEW.
11. REPLACE ALL PEDESTRIAN INDICATIONS WITH L.E.D. MODULES.
. 12. ALL PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE BUTTONS SHALL BE REPLACED BY ADA BUTTONS AT THE APPROPRIATE HEIGHT
AS PER ES-7A. ABANDONED MOUNTING HOLES SHALL BE COVERED WITH METAL PLUGS.
