1. TRAFFIC STRIPES, TRAFFlC SIGNING, PAVEMENT LEGENDS. MARKINGS AND
RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS SHALL CONFORM TO THE FOLLOWING: CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CALTRANS} DOCUMENTS; CALIFORNIA,
SUPPLEMENT TO 2003 MUTCD, MAINTENANCE MANUAL, STANDARD PLANS
AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, JULY 2002 AND AS MOST RECENllY REVISED.
2. TEMPORARY TRAFFIC STRIPING AND MARKINGS SHALL BE PAINT APPLIED IN ONE
COAT AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER SANDBLAST OF
CONFLICTING STRIPING,

1. ALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL, HIGHWAY LIGHTING, SIGNING AND STRIPING SHALL CONFORM TO THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS EDITION DA TED JULY, 2002, CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
STANDARD PLANS, AND THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR THE PROJECT.
2. ALL ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS USED ARE SHOWN ON CALTRANS STANDARD PLAN
NUMBERS A-10A, A-10B, ES-1A, ES-1B AND AS DEFlNED ON THE PLAN.

4. ALL SIGN FACE REFLECTIVE SHEETING SHALL BE HIGH INTENSITY GRADE
WITH PROTECTIVE OVERLAY FILM, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE,
5. ALL CONFLICTING LINES, EXISTING CURB PAINT, AND MARKINGS SHALL BE
REMOVED BY WET SANDBLASTING OR OTHER APPROVED METHOD PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION OF NEW STRIPING. ALL CONFLICTING RAISED PAVEMENT
MARKERS SHALL BE REMOVED. PAVEMENT THAT IS DAMAGED DUE TO REMOVAL
OF MARKERS SHALL BE REPAIRED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER.
6. IN NO CASE SHALL A NEWLY PAVED STREET OPEN TO THE PUBLIC BE LEFT
UNSTRIPED OVER A WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY.
7. NEW SIGN POSTS SHALL BE GALVANIZED STEEL. EASY ERECT BREAKAWAY, OR
STEEL TUBING WITH BREAKAWAY BASE, "UNI-STRUT" OR APPROVED EQUAL,
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTIED ON STREET LIGHT
POLES WHENEVER FEASIBLE.
8. STRIPING SHALL BE CAT TRACKED AND APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER
PRIOR TO FINAL INSTALLATION.
9. A SLURRY SEAL PATCH WILL BE REQUIRED IF SLURRY SEAL IS DAMAGED BY
STRIPING OR R.P.M. REMOVAL
10. ALL EXISTING SIGNING AND STRIPING SHALL BE PROTECTED IN PLACE UNLESS
NOTED OTHERWISE.

4. ALL NEW CONDUITS SHALL BE PVC SHC 80. ALL STUB OUT CONDUITS SHALL BE 2". ALL
CONDUITS FROM POLE TO ADJACENT PULL BOX SHALL BE PER CAL TRANS STANDARD PLAN.
ALL OTHER CONDUITS SHALL BE 2" MINIMUM UNLESS NOTIED OTHERWISE.
5. All CABLES SHALL BE RUN CONTINUOUSLY TO CABINET. ALL CONDUCTORS, CABLES, WIRES
SHALL BE LABELED PER THE SPECIFICATION .
6. All LOCATIONS OF IN-PAVEMENT FLASHERS, AND CABINET REQUIRE ENGINEER'S APPROVAL
PRIOR TO SAW CUTTING OR EXCAVATION.
7. ALL PULL BOXES SHALL BE CONCRETE, LID SHALL BE. LIGHT WEIGHT PULL BOX SHALL BE
BE NUMBER 5, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
8. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THE INTENDED OPERATION.
9, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION MEETING WITH LANELIGHT AT LEAST 20
WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO ENSURE THE REPRESENTATIVE CAN BE PRESENT
DURING INSTALLATION.
1 O. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYS
FOR THIS PROJECT AS DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIFlCA TIONS.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF THE
ELECTRICAL WORK AND PRIOR TO THE REQUIRED INSPECTIONS .
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AND NOTIFY ALL UTILITY COMPANIES
A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION, IT SHALL BE THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR WITH THE VARIOUS UTILITY COMPANIES INVOLVED.
13. THE CITY SHALL APPROVE THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL POLES, PULL BOXES, CONDUITS
AND CABINETS IN THE FlELD.
